Barossa Valley - Vineyards and Wineries part three

 Seppelt Winery

When approaching the Seppelt Winery we first stopped at the Seppelt Family Mausoleum.
To reach the building you need to negotiate a steep, stony, slope. There is a good view of the surrounding countryside.
We then drove down Seppeltsfield Road to locate the entry to the winery. The vineyards were established in 1850.
Once again there are impressive buildings set in landscaped grounds.

There was also a cafe where we could purchase lunch.

The Jamfactory at Seppelts contains a gallery and workshops.

The exhibition, on our visit, was re/Joy by Vipoo Srivilasa. The artist requested people to send him broken ceramic objects that were important to them and he then incorporated some of the objects in the art works in this exhibition.

Whistler Winery
This winery makes a feature of its bush setting.
One of the features is a series of bush walks available. However, due to the dry conditions there was not much to see.
We did go for a short walk around a kangaroo enclosure.

This area would normally hold water.
Bore water is used throughout the Barossa Valley to supplement rainfall in the area.
