London

Wednesday 27 July
Left Paris and flew to London. Very short trip but several hours at the airport each end of the journey. We settled into the hotel - view below from the hotel window -
and then set out to explore London.
Walked along London streets towards the river
and then along the river bank
eventually arriving at the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben.
Then to Westminster Abbey,
Buckingham Palace
and then down The Mall past Clarence House and St James' Palace.
Piccadilly Circus is a plaza at the junction of Regent Street, Shaftesbury Avenue, Piccadilly Street and Convent Street. The Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain with the statue of Eros is a focal point of the plaza.
Charing Cross Road.
Discovered an Australian prescence in London with Prisilla Queen of the Desert

Throughout the city there are war memorials plus memorials to events in World War II London

London was getting ready for the forthcoming Olympic Games in London in 2012. Roads were blocked for trials for events to be held.
