In the morning we went to Montmatre for a couple of hours looking around this site long associated with artists including Vincent Van Gogh, Henri Matisse, Auguste Renoir, Edgar Degas and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. The area still has artists, and others, selling their wares.
The Basilique du Sacre Coeur dominates the hilltop. The church was built between 1885 and 1919.
Good views from the top of the hill.
Buildings in the steep streets leading down the hill.
