Todmorden to Chester

Sunday 7 August
We drove to Todmorden to look for Lord family graves at St Mary's Church.
We were standing under a tree to get out of the rain when we noticed a monument in front of the church with four panels to the Lord family.
We also located another Lord gravestone plus one with names of members of the Fielden family.
We had a quick walk around Todmorden before heading off to Chester.

Chester is a fascinating city with lots of sites of historical interest.
We spent several hours exploring Chester by foot - visited the old part of the city, had a tour of Chester Cathedral,
walked the city wall
and located some Roman sites including the Roman Gardens
and the Amphitheatre.

The website Chester 360 provides additional information about plus images of this historic city.
