The new building for the City of Perth Library opened in 1 March 2016.
This most impressive building is located in Hay Street, backing on to St George's Cathedral.

The library is circular in design and the main section of the library comprises three open stories providing the view of the decorated ceiling. Above this one level is devoted to children's services while the top level is devoted to youth services. There is also a 90 seat multi-function room. The library also has a history centre. Balconies provide views of Perth.
