Over 70s National Cricket Championships - Albury-Wodonga- Games 3 & 4

Games 3 and 4 were both played on the Les Cheesley Oval at Martin Park, Wodonga.
Game 3 was against New South Wales and they bowled first. Victoria kept the New South Wales score to 157 runs in 45 overs.
Once agian the Victorian team batted and fielded well. Robin had 0 wickets for 10 runs off his 8 overs. Ronnie Kasputtis had two wickets and Ronnie Lovel had one.
After lunch the Victorians batted and won the game by one run in the last over. This gave Victoria the right to play in the final.
When we arrived at the ground on the Sunday a member of the Wodonga Cricket Club showed the Victorian ladies a shady position under the trees which he recommended as the best place to watch the game. The locals call this area the Doghouse.
Sandra, June, Jan, Lesley, Helen and Lynley (plus a visitor)
After the game there was a sausage sizzle.
The next day (Monday) we were back at the ground for the final against Queensland. Queensland batted first and made 7 for 174 in their 45 overs. Ronnie Kaspurris, John Costello and John Geltch each had two wickets. Robin had 0 for 30 in his eight overs.Unfortunately at the end of their 45 overs the Victorian score had only reached 9 for 164. Hopefully Victoria will be victorious in Launceston in November 2020.
