16 July was a rest day so we boarded the coach for a day trip to the Lake District.
Our first stop was at the hotel Lindeth Howe where we enjoyed walking around the hotel gardens before lunch.
The coach then took us Bowness on Lake Windermere where we had time to go for a walk before boarding the boat for a cruise on the lake.
There was a variety of boats to be seen on the lake.
Seagulls followed the boat looking for food.
We sailed the lake until we reached Lakeside where the boat turned round to return to Bowness.
On the return journey we identified the Beech Hill Hotel where we stayed four years ago.
Closer to Bowness we passes a small island used as the location for the Swallows and Amazons film made in 1974.
The cruise finished back at Bowness.
It was a relaxing cruise. We the boarded the coach for the return journey.
